Welcome to Mayaro!
In Mayaro there is a competition for land, space and resources between man and nature. It seems as though the outcome of this battle is already known, with man as the ultimate victor. This battle is offsetting the delicate balance that exist between man and his environment.
Fixed land and resources are competing with a growing human population. Vast amounts of land are being cleared for housing developments and agriculture. Resulting in populations of birds and wildlife are being displaced from their natural habitat. In order to support the increasing economic demand and recreational appetite the wildlife are being hunted in rapid progression.

The cries of nature are silent and it seems that no one is caring. However, there are few in Mayaro that can hear the cry of their surroundings. The aim of this project is to highlight individuals and organisations that emerge as Mayaro's Protectors.
Three main groups are affecting Mayaro, preserving the environment for our future generations. They are protecting, preserving, and enhancing Mayaro, our precious resource.

- Manatee Conservation Trust
- National Reforestation and Watershed Rehabilitation Programme
