Chacachacare


Chacachacare covers an area of about 900 acres. Vegetation on this island includes Salt-fish Wood, Sugar Apple, Silk Cotton, Cactus and Naked Indian. Chacachacare has a salt pond. The salt pond is a large body of water that is separated from the sea by a thin strip of land. The small island also has a light-house that was once recorded the as the oldest light house in the western hemisphere.
The island is rich in historical value, witnessing the lives of the Amerindians, the lighthouse, a whaling station, a leprosarium in 1924 and an invasion of Venezuela.



Monos


The island of Monos consists of approximately 1,000 acres and is primarily mountainous with welcoming bays. Vegetation on the island consists of Salt-fish Wood, Cactus, Hog Plum, Naked Indian, Agave, Manicou Fig and Queen of the Forest.
The island of Monos is positioned west of the Chaguaramas Peninsula. It lies between the first and second Bocas which is the name given to the passages of water between the off shore islands are called Bocas. Monos has many beautiful bays and holiday resorts.





Gaspar Grande


The famous Gasparee Caves are found on the island of Gaspar Grande. The Gasparee Caves are a natural limestone cave system with a mysterious pool at it base exists. Some other caves located on the island are the White Cave, the Brioge Cavern and the Precipice Cavern.
The dimensions of the island of Gaspar Grande are a mile in length and half of a mile in width. The island is a limestone island that consists of an area of approximately 280 acres and reaches a height of 103 meters at its highest point.
Vegetation on the island includes Yellow Poui, Giant Cactus, Hog Plum, Silk Cotton, Agave, Manicou fig, Naked Indian, Pelican Flower, and Queen of the Forest, Cow Icth, Sugar Apple and Salt-fish Wood.
The island of Gaspar Grande is prosperous in history, with past events, such as the Saga of Admiral Apodaca and Whaling Stations.
There is a legend about the island. There is another cave on the island called "Williams Dampiers Tunnel". It is dark and mysterious. Legend has it that this tunnel hides a pirate's treasure chest. It continues to say that this chest becomes easily accessible on certain days of the year.
