Ministry Of Education’s “Strategic Plan 2011” Documents
People centred development and Education are major planks in the platform of the People’s Partnership Government, and important ones on which the Government swept into power in 2010.
The Ministry of Education therefore is charged with making a key contribution to the Government’s developmental thrusts, honouring the principle that an Administration’s highest mission is the progress of its people through the processes of education.
Our Ministry began pursuing this objective within days of taking office in May 2010, recognizing the need for an intensive examination of the existing vision, mission, principles, policies and programmes of the Ministry. Our initiative was to embark upon a transformational journey that would see the reformulation of the:
-
Vision
- Mission and
- Strategy and plans of the Ministry, driven by clearly defined value outcomes for the children of Trinidad and Tobago.
Within months, our Ministry engaged the services of a Management Consultant to undertake the role of ‘Specialist Change Agent’, conducting a high-intensive scrutiny of the Ministry, culminating in the preparation of:
-
Strategic Assessment (Sept. 2010)
-
Strategy Report (15/11/10) and approved by Cabinet
-
Vision for Our Children of Trinidad and Tobago (incorporated into the Strategy Report)
-
Quick Win Plan (29/11/10)
-

The above have all been posted on the Ministry’s website.
