Globally, the COVID-19 pandemic has created the largest disruption of education systems in history, affecting nearly 1.6 billion learners in more than 190 countries and all continents. Closures of schools and other learning spaces have impacted 94 per cent of the world’s student population, up to 99 per cent in low and lower-middle income countries.
In Trinidad & Tobago, the data shows that approximately 63,369 students are without a combination of ICT service or devices, and this poses a serious challenge in the midst of a pandemic, where work from home and stay at home directives are often issued by the Ministry of Health in an attempt to curb the spread of COVID-19.
The MOE has also had to adjust and transition to online classes to ensure that the students are safe and still learning. The Ministry of Education (MOE) is collaborating with various stakeholders through its “No Child Left Behind” Project to address the impact of COVID-19 on the education system in Trinidad & Tobago and deliver quality education to the nation’s children through various modalities.
Join us in securing the future of our nation during these unprecedented times. Become a partner, Adopt-a-School, and help restore the Education Sector from the ravages of the pandemic.
Adoption is about creating a long-term meaningful partnership which, while providing schools with vital educational resources, empowers school and community partners to build on your investment. Partnership between schools and adopting entities is necessary to provide additional resources to our schools and to deliver the best education for our children.
The benefits of adoption include:
✓ Saving our nations children
✓ Improved school-community relations
✓ Improved corporate image (brand alignment)
